So what if it’s freezing out there? We’re dreaming of sunshine, lazy days, and… a gorgeous summer wedding! If you’re tying the knot this summer, why not take advantage of the mild weather by holding an outdoor wedding? We think a lush green garden warmed by the afternoon sun is just about the most perfect place to get married. The sun peeking through the trees, the sound of birdsong, and the smell of fresh-mown grass in the air – can’t you just picture it?
This season we’re using delicious summer fruits as the inspiration for our wedding themes. Think luscious raspberries, tart strawberries and handfuls of juicy blueberries. What could be more fun than a wedding on a fruit farm, where the guests can pick their own dessert? Lay the tables with sweet rustic patchwork tablecloths and top with simple floral arrangements in jam jars. Hang strings of paper lanterns from the trees for a touch of whimsical charm. The colors are fabulous – deep reds, offset by shades of blue. Serve your guests with fruity treats like cupcakes, and for a sweet afterthought, how about sending them home with a tiny personalized jar of strawberry jam. It’s all about spreading the love, after all!

From country charm to city chic, the summer fruit theme is also perfect for a more sophisticated event. How about an elegant peaches and cream wedding? The color palette is very classic – ivory and silver and shades of soft peach, creating a subtle yet glamorous backdrop for your big day. The ideal venue is a stately mansion, or imposing public space like a concert hall or even library. Fill the rooms with floral arrangements, using fresh peaches as accents, and lots of full-blown roses. On the tables, give each guest a memento of your wedding in a sweet peach organza pouch, and keep bowls of peaches everywhere for people to help themselves. Your guests will never have seen anything quite so beautiful or so elegant!

Citrus fruits flood the fruit stalls in summer, so why not use them as the inspiration for your summer wedding? A lemon and lime theme is fresh, colourful, and ultra-cool for a hot summer event. Think crisp white tablecloths, gorgeous yellow and fresh green accents, and bridesmaids dressed in pretty pale lemon with green sashes. You can even integrate lemons and limes into the bouquets they carry! Serve citrus inspired food and drink – lemon tarts and lime pie, with a stand for old-fashioned home-made lemonade. Extend the theme to the cake with pretty yellow and green floral decorations, and finish it off with a sweet personalized cake topper with your names engraved on it. It’s the ultimate in summer wedding prettiness…

Walk into the beautiful new Las Vegas hotel, The Cosmopolitan, and you will be truly awe-inspired. Amidst the grandeur and bright lights of Las Vegas, The Cosmopolitan still manages to take opulence to new heights. Having just opened on December 15th, The Cosmopolitan, Las Vegas has already become our favorite hotel on the Las Vegas Strip for many reasons but one in particular – it’s 2 million crystal chandelier which adorns the hotel’s main three-story lounge.
The hotel is a great venue for an intimate wedding reception at the Terrace Suite, with amazing views of the Las Vegas Strip.
The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas website calls it, “An inhabitable, multi-story visual spectacle housing three unique bar experiences; The Chandelier provides a bit of playground, art exhibit and cocktail haven all at once.”

Is there any more perfect time for a wedding than those beautiful few weeks when spring comes softly wafting in on a cool, fresh breeze? Suddenly the whole world seems to be waking up after months of winter to a bright new day – a day that is sweetened by the burst of the cherry blossom! In beautiful shades from softest blush to intense pink, cherry blossoms bedeck the trees and flood the skies with color.
Your spring wedding will be a celebration of joy and new beginnings, so what better symbol than the cherry blossom? Step out into the park for your bridal shoot and gaze into each others’ eyes amongst the trees – the fresh, bright colors will be the perfect backdrop. Dress your bridal party in varying shades of pink, and add parasols for a pretty touch. Continue the oriental theme with paper lanterns at the reception, and pink centerpieces. A dessert buffet at your cherry blossom themed wedding is the ideal showcase for gorgeous rose-colored confectionery, or you could cover the wedding cake in pretty pink blooms. Finally, have your guests sign a cherry blossom guest book, so you’ll always remember those who came to celebrate your enchanted day with you!

Spring is a time of vivid color, so enhance your cherry blossom theme with splashes of cool aqua and fresh green. The overall palette is cool, uplifting, and oh-so-pretty. Spread the tables with sweet striped tablecloths and add cherry blossom branches arranged in vintage pastel glass jars. A plantable seed place card is the perfect accompaniment - each cherry blossom card has a seed paper attached that guests can take home and plant, which will grow into a beautiful lifelong symbol of your special day. Or send each guest home with an adorable personalized lollipop favor, to say a ‘sweet’ thank you for being there…

If you love the idea of the cherry blossom theme, but want a more sophisticated look, why not pare the blossom symbol down to its very essence – the elegant branch with its softly clinging pink flowers. The simple shades of black, white and pink form the basis for a super-elegant color scheme and décor. Classically pretty and yet modern in its execution, this black and white wedding theme requires simple black outfits for the bridal party, and pale pink blossoms everywhere. Swathe your favors in a special cherry blossom wrap with a pared-down print, or hand out these uber-sweet tin pails filled with sugared almonds, and ensure your send-off is the classiest ever.

During this weekend’s trade show extravaganza in Las Vegas, with the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) and the Leg Avenue, Dreamgirl and Rubies Halloween Costume Sneak Peek Shows in full swing, we got the chance to view the new wedding gown collection by Venezuelan designer Caroline Herrera at the City Center, Las Vegas.
The new boutique opened nearly a year ago, in February 2010, and features the entire Carolina Herrera bridal collection as well as exclusive gowns (as seen below) available only at the Vegas boutique.
The Vegas boutique is adjacent to the Mandarin Oriental, just steps away from Crystals shopping plaza. It is the fifth Caroline Herrera boutique in the US with other locations in New York, Los Angeles, Dallas and Bel Harbour, Florida.

It’s being touted as the wedding of the decade – Prince William and Kate Middleton are officially tying the knot on April 29th, and when they do so, the whole world will be watching. With all television networks geared to cover the event in all its glory, what better than to join with friends and family and hold a fabulous royal wedding viewing party? Kate and William’s wedding promises to be a grand and traditional affair with all the pomp and ceremony of the Queen’s own wedding 60-odd years ago and the iconic union of Prince Charles and Diana which captured the hearts and imaginations of millions in 1981.
Given that Kate is the epitome of elegance and Prince William has an old-world aristocratic style, we think the royal wedding will follow a traditional yet grand theme. Colors will be classic ivory with touches of gold – a palette that will echo the stately ambiance of the venue, Westminster Abbey – with plenty of royal touches. As for the dress, it’s rumored Bruce Oldfield will be the lucky designer of choice for the future Queen.

A royal wedding viewing party is the perfect opportunity to recreate as many storybook fantasies as you like – after all, Kate and William represent the ultimate fairytale prince and princess. Decorate with happily-ever-after strings of hearts and lay out a prettily decorated buffet of finger foods and mini cupcakes. Don’t forget to toast the bride and groom with champagne when they are proclaimed husband and wife – royalty themed bottle stoppers are the perfect accessory. And send your guests home with a gorgeous enchanted carriage party favor that looks like the beautiful glass carriage the new couple will take a ride in after the ceremony.

If you’re looking for a slightly more sophisticated theme for your royal wedding viewing party, why not go the Victorian route – rich, opulent, and oh-so-elegant? This color scheme relies mostly on gold, so a heavy damask is the perfect choice for table coverings. The pattern of the fabric is echoed in the invitations, the custom-made coasters, and even the cake! For what would a wedding be without some decadently delicious wedding cake?

2011 is all about beautiful simplicity and attention to detail. Whether your style is Park Avenue bling or rustic chic, the decorative focus should always be on you and your personality. For your winter wedding, celebrate the season and personalize your celebration by creating winter garden centerpieces to decorate your tables and bring the warmth of nature indoors. For an elegant winter wedding table display, add color and height with towers of blossoms. Use clear fluted trumpet vases to create dripping bouquets, or create tight bunches with organza ribbon tied around long stemmed flowers. “Table Glam” Diamond Crystals bring the sparkle to your centerpieces. Place squared vases filled with flowers and votive candles on a center piece mirror. Scatter the diamond crystals on the mirror. The flickering candle light will reflect off the crystals creating an effect of sparkling diamonds. However you display you blossoms, a winter garden will set an elegant, dazzling scene for your winter wedding.
