Most brides tend to shy away from October 31st wedding dates but with the new trend in creative unique wedding decor there has been a rise in brides stepping out of the tradition white wedding. Especially since Vera Wang just released a line of black wedding dresses for her new 2012 bridal line! We love creative wedding ideas and Halloween is a great reason for a special celebration. Plan a spooky Hallo-wedding just like this one that was featured on Ruffled.com blog. Decide ahead of time if you’d like guests to dress in their Halloween best or stick to a color coordinated theme. These photos are stunning and we love how the decorations aren’t too over the top. What a great way to decorate with paper lanterns!

Bieber took the world by storm and it’s about time the crooner made his way into wedding videos. How adorable is that little shaggy haired singer and his love song woes? Well, this video came out a little while ago and as the caption reads: ”it hurts my hips just watching them move”. That’s an understatement. This wedding video has everyone dancing along and giggling with excitement. I’d plan my wedding over again if it meant getting a chance for this cute serenade from the groom and his back up dancers. What do you think?
Studio205Films really captured the excitement and groove of this dance. These are the reasons it is worth a splurge for a talented videographer, don’t you agree? If you could be surprised and crooned by Bieber would you absolutely adore it? We know we would.
We certainly have had a lot of royal weddings this year. The latest, Bhutanese King Jigme Khesar Namgyal Wangchuck wed Jetsun Pema. Bhutan has gained popularity in the recent years for their integration into the modern world. The wedding was accompanied by a three day national holiday in their honor. According to National Geographic, the celebrations began at 8:20am - a time set by royal astrologers, which is a tradition in eastern countries. The Los Angeles Times commented that “In sharp contrast to the nuptials of Britain’s Prince William and Catherine Middleton, there were no star-studded celebrities, self-important film stars, fidgeting foreign royals or a long wedding dress train to trip over.” This wedding was a beauty of bright colors and rich in traditional values. The people were allowed to see them and the new bride was introduced to her adoring fans.
I love these bright colors for a wedding as they’re very popular in Asian cultures. The brides typically wear traditional clothing in rich tones rather than the standard white wedding dress that has become popular in the past century. As yellow is their royal color, worn in his sash and used for accents, it’s no surprise the city was accented with pops of yellow everywhere. Throwing a party in their honor would be an easy project with bright colored accents. How much would the Honorable King and Queen love these yellow decorations!
Decorating a dessert table has definitely become an art form. There are many different ways to style and decorate a cake that truly make it personalized to each couple. My favorite part about decorating desserts is the presentation. The flavor and icing is only good if someone actually wants to eat the cake. Recently I went to a wedding where there was a dessert table with different types of cakes and treats. Cookies and pies were all placed on different colored cake stands. It created a funky looking cake display that was really unique. Luckily for you dear friend, I have tons of ideas for how to create a fabulous dessert table!

Some of you may be following what is happening on Wall Street and the protester movement developing in our country’s biggest cities. We don’t want to get political today, we’re just here to share that some joyous news has come from the Occupy Wall Street protest: a marriage proposal! This couple wanted to share an important day with the people important to them. Surrounded by hundreds of people in the middle of Liberty Plaza, this man proposed to his girlfriend. Take a look! Our economy and political climate is rocky these days and while we don’t like to get into politics, this is still a pretty cool way to incorporate your personality into your proposal.

Do you want to know how to dress up your next dinner party? There’s no reason you have to wait until the holidays or a wedding to introduce brand new charger plates into your decor. Using decorative charger plates is a great a way to create a elegant display without breaking the bank on new dishes. Especially since you can use practically any color dish on top! My favorite are the variety of blue charger plates Koyal Wholesale carries. These plates are lightweight and would look great with blue china.

How pretty would these decorative charger plate table settings be for a holiday party? Vintage china is a great way to collect pretty dishes that are one of kind. Then use a solid charger plate to complete the look with a uniform color to draw the mismatched plates together. Make it a great excuse to have a fun holiday dinner party or invite all your best gal pals over for brunch! To accent all the plates I would definitely use white table linens and a complementary table napkin. What are you favorite tips for holiday party decor? Walking down the aisle is a big moment for every couple. The photos don’t do your nerves and excitement justice, as a new bride I know that there is no way to really explain how you feel walking down the aisle in front of everyone. Plus, there are a lot of considerations that need to be accounted for when walking down the aisle. Brainstorm your desired look beforehand you’ll have really great photos of you and your mate at the alter. A huge part of capturing that special photo of you and your partner is creating the perfect backdrop and aisle decor.
You have a variety of options for aisle runners, especially for outdoor weddings. One really great budget friendly option is to adorn your aisles with live flowers. Adorning your wedding aisle with wedding flowers allows you to coordinate your bouquet with your potted plants. Dress them up by placing them in galvanized buckets. Pick out your favorite flower pots at your local nursery and purchase them ahead of time. Then after your wedding you can incorporate them into your home or give them away to your mothers and grandmothers.
For another popular aisle runner trend, I’ve been seeing personalized aisle runners with monograms of the bride and groom. Creating a special message with your initials in your wedding colors is a great way to dress up a concrete or cement walkway. Adorn the edges of the aisle runner with colored rose petals for a romantic accent.
My new personal favorite is using tissue paper pom poms on the chairs or Shepard hooks along the aisle. By attaching fishing line you can hang them on the pack of a chair along your wedding aisle, or you can string multiple poms together to create a garland. If you’re creating a garland mix and match colors for a creative assortment. If you want more variety try hanging tissue paper fan decorations alternating between fan decorations and pom pom decorations. What do you think of these photos for a great way to incorporate live planted flowers and tissue paper pom poms?
If you received our newsletter this morning, you probably caught on that we’re still all about Halloween decor around here. We’re filled to the brim with ideas for how to create a spooky ambiance for your festivities. The easiest way to create that scary Halloween look you’re going for is to pair black tableware and orange paper plates. Add a some big bowls of cooked pasta for intestines and deviled eggs for eyeballs and you have a scary meal that will impress your guests of all ages. For dessert, try Halloween cupcake wrappers with scary toppings.
We love the table scapes that Good Housekeeping puts together. They combine white, black and orange for a festive arrangement that is Halloween related without going over the top. Damask Japanese Washi Tape is a great way to transform an old vase into a fun vase for your table arrangements. Start at the top of a tower vase and wrap towards the bottom without overlapping. Mix and match any of these black vases and candelabras with Halloween Damask cupcake wrappers and decorative tape for a creative way to make an elegant table setting.

Flash mob might have overstayed it’s welcome and I am completely over the “Single Ladies” Beyonce Flash Mob routine. However, we found a flash mob that is thought out and romantic. Plus, his speech is pretty sweet. This proposal was put on by FlashMobAmerica and takes place on the UCLA campus that the couple originally met. Inspiring yet another original proposal, we’ll make an exception this time.
