On Fridays we typically post marriage proposals and other fun wedding videos. This week we thought we’d mixed it up a little bit. There are many ways to plan a sweet proposal. Marriage is not a sentence but a fun adventure, so why not make your marriage proposal just as fun? You can personalize any of these top 10 ways to propose marriage ideas with your own personal touch.

- Treasure Hunt: Send your girlfriend on a treasure hunt. Start with a clue at home, then send her on a tour of your favorite spots all over town. When she gets to the last hint, the prize should be you on one knee. Make the last spot a specific meaningful place.
- Proposal Picnic: Have a friend or family member set up a picnic — complete with wine and cheese or chocolate covered strawberries — for you in a park. Take your girlfriend for a hike on a route where you’ll stumble upon this surprise “Proposal Picnic.” Then you can incorporate the picnic theme into your wedding with picnic basket party favors.
- Furry Find: Have you been talking about commitment? Does she really want a little furry friend? Buy a pet that she has always wanted (bunny, kitten, puppy) and loosely tie the ring around its neck. Not there yet? Substitute a stuffed animal — still cute, but less maintenance! Be warned, this proposal is only successful if you’ve talked about a pet and have decided to keep one.
- Make A Scene: Make a list of 10 reasons you’d like to marry your beloved. Have them delivered with a singing telegram to embarrass her throughout the day, with the last card arriving by personal messenger (you!). This works as a very public romantic gesture but chances are by two or three she’ll either be annoyed or know what’s coming- so make sure this matches her personality!
- School Her: If your girlfriend is a teacher, ask a coworker to plan a special surprise proposal with the classroom of kids. They can present a special birthday card or Friday surprise for your special girl. When she’s standing in the middle of the room watching the kids you can walk in behind her. Use mini chalkboards for each kid to spell out the letters to the question “Will You Marry Me?” What a cute classroom proposal this would be!
- Get Wordy: Create your own crossword puzzle and be prepared to help her work it out over breakfast. This is a sweet way to propose at home without a lot of people or drama. Or you can contact your local newspaper and hire them to print the crossword for you. Crossword proposals are really thoughtful.
- State Fair: Arrange a surprise proposal with a street caricaturist at your local fair. Have him sketch a picture of you two with you on your knee. Yours will read, “Will you Marry Me?”, and hers will say, “Yes!”
- Special Request: Go out for a night of dancing, and ask the DJ or band leader to pass you the mic so that you can dedicate a song and propose on the dance floor.
If none of these make you excited you have two more options, you can hire a local theater production to help you choreograph a flash mob proposal. Or you can skip the brainstorming and headaches and let a professional proposal service do it for you. The Yes Girls is one company that specializes in proposals and wedding planning.
Celebrating a new baby is a big milestone for a new mom and dad. Planning the announcement and introducing the baby can be daunting and stressful for new parents. Traditionally close friends or family members would put together a special baby shower to celebrate the new bundle of joy. New traditions are starting to occur where parents announce their own future family member and invite guests to share in their happiness with them. Baby showers have become a unisex party for both men and women to enjoy.

Here are the new trendiest top 10 popular baby shower decorating ideas for your future bundle of joy!
- Gender Reveal Cupcakes: These cupcakes are a great way to surprise your guests with the sex of the baby. The sex of the baby is revealed with pink or blue frosting filling inside the cupcake. Use a neutral cupcake wrapper like green and yellow to confuse guessers.
- Baby Theme Food: Invite guests to drink from large baby jars or milk cartons for a fun “be a kid again” feel! Pop bright colored retro paper drinking straws for a grown up way to avoid spills! Mini treats and mini cupcakes are the perfect excuse to serve finger food instead of an entrée.
- Diaper Cakes: This trend has been on the rise for some time now. The honored couple is supplied with diapers rolled up in the form of a cake. You can wrap cake with coordinated ribbon to make the cake match the rest of the baby shower décor. Decorate a cupcake stand with similar theme cupcakes for a matching presentation!
- Book Theme Baby: This theme is great for the avid reader parents. Guests are invited to bring a copy of their favorite childhood book they read themselves or read to their kids. Ask them to write an inscription on the inside cover for your child.
- Sprinkle Party: This term is used for moms who are having their second or third child. Since the assumption is they already have everything they need from the first baby shower, a simple sprinkle is the perfect party for giving diapers and other goods that a second time mom might need for a new gender different than the first baby.
- Jack and Jill Reveal: This is a super simple idea that won’t take a lot of time or energy. When inviting all your guests make a note to inform them to wear a blue or pink shirt to symbolize their guess for whether the baby is a girl or boy. Guests can receive baby party favors in blue or pink to reward them for their correct guess!
- After The Arrival: Some parents prefer to have the party after their big arrival comes so they can host a “see and sip” party where guests are invited to an open house style baby shower to see the baby and sip on drinks.
- Bring A Letter: This party theme really works well if you have a lot of guests attending. Assign each guest a number or letter to bring. They decorate a large wooden number or letter any way they’d like and they’re hung in the baby’s room for future learning tools!
- Onesie Decorating: This time honored tradition of decorating onesies for the new baby is a great way to incorporate different styles into your baby’s wardrobe. Buy bulk baby onesies for each guest to decorate and craft supplies from your local craft store. Onesie parties are all the rage!
- Guessing Game: This is another familiar tradition that is still in existence. Guests are asked to bet on what the baby will weigh. An alternative to baby weight (such a sensitive subject) is to have guests guess the baby’s eye color- though this only works if the parents have different eye colors. Create a little baby face drawing pad and each guest can take a crayon and color the hair and eyes the color that they think they will be.
Hosting your first Thanksgiving together is kind of a big deal right? You have to carefully include all the usual suspects and the family regulars. All the in laws have to be included, especially if you hope to receive props for your delicious cooking. The pressure to decorate and bake can be a lot to handle for a newlywed couple. That is why we have put together a list of how to survive hosting your first holiday together! We were influenced by a terrific article we found on Huffington Post and wanted to add a few additional pointers.
Gourds are a great conversation piece. These candy corn gourds from familycircle.com can be filled with votive candles or festive candy.
- Guest List: Make sure you invite everyone. Even if you’re unsure whether your in-laws can handle your outspoken opinionated family, you’ll have bigger problems if you forget to invite a crucial guest who has been invited to every holiday event for the past twenty years. Be aware your guest list might grow and duplicate but a slight can really hurt your chances of hosting in the future.
- Incorporate Your Personal Traditions: Now is your chance to show the in-laws what you bring to the table. Family traditions from your family will blend into your new family so incorporating both into the big day will help show both mothers that you’re including them.
- Decorate With Conversation Pieces: Incorporating candles into your festive centerpieces is only the tip of the iceberg. Use glass vases filled with artificial leaves to represent fall, then decorate with cinnamon pinecones in the entryway to lure guests in. Transform an pillar candle by wrapping twigs and other found nature objects around the outside with a rubber band. Then cover the rubber band with ribbon or rhinestone ribbon wrap.
- Potluck Style Is Okay Too: Letting the in laws help with a small side dish or an appetizer is a great way to make them feel welcome. Plus, ask them to bring a recipe card or special family dish that has meaning. This way you have a conversation starter for when things get a little quiet. Ask them to share a special story about past Thanksgivings or holidays.
- Plan an Activity: A wishing tree is a great way to show your friends and family that you’re thankful and appreciative for their support and love. Decorate a manzanita tree centerpiece with silver glitter or crystal garland. Then hang things you’re thankful for on wishing tags. Guests can opt to add their own before the meal. This is a great activity to show the children that giving thanks is an important part of getting together for the holidays.

Here’s a great idea by Kate Crowle that she shared with us on Pinterest!
Happy holidays and everyone at Koyal Wholesale is wishing you a happy Thanksgiving!
