How Does Your Garden Glow?

Now that the weather’s hotting up, many couples are choosing to hold their wedding outdoors, and make the most of the summer sun. But what happens when the sun starts to set and your reception guests are left in semi-darkness? We have the perfect solutions for you to light up your garden and keep that glow going!

Evening lighting is all about creating ambience. You don’t want harsh floodlights, but softer, more subtle lights that will help the party morph into a laid-back but elegant soiree. One of the best solutions is to attach strings between the trees and hang lots of Paper Lanterns – the effect is pretty and almost magical. You can choose almost any color and shape to tie in with your wedding theme.

Fairy lights or String Lights are a great idea too. Wrap them around trees, drape them across the garden fence – they can be used almost anywhere. Plus they make a gorgeously atmospheric backdrop for some beautiful pictures!

Another good way to bring light to the area in a stylish way is to hang decorative glass lanterns. There are so many different kinds available – you could go for Mini Hanging Garden Metal Lanterns for a smaller area, or the larger Clear Glass Star Lanterns for a more fairytale look. If your color palette is on the warm side (red, orange, pink or burgundy) you could even lean towards a Moroccan-style look, with Red Glass Moroccan Lanterns or Tradewinds Candle Lanterns.  Lanterns also look lovely when suspended on Shepherd’s Hooks to create atmospheric pools of light.

Finally, don’t forget to light up your tables! Simple glass Votive Candle Holders in clusters are the best bet, like the ones pictured below, but you could also go for fancier Beaded Votive Candle Holders if you want to dress the tables up a bit!

Sweet Dreams: Featuring Candy Buffet Glass Jars

Let’s be honest – inside every one of us is a little kid who still gets excited at the sight of unlimited candy. Go on – admit it!! The latest trend for candy buffets at weddings is all about catering to that childish dream – part whimsy, part fantasy, one hundred percent all-out gorgeousness. Candy buffets are, quite simply, eye candy too – when color coordinated and set up properly, they look stunning and can make a real focal point (and talking point!) at the reception.

The concept is easy to execute for the DIY bride, as all you really need is a set of glass jars, scoops, and miniature bags or boxes for guests to fill up and take home! It’s the ideal wedding favor, and there isn’t a single guest who will be able to resist once they see all that sugar-filled perfection!

Summer Wedding Tablescape Ideas—Grape with a Splash of Lemon!

Many of you are just starting to plan your summer wedding and picking wedding colors can sometimes be a difficult task. Purple may just be the perfect color for your big day and add a hint of yellow to bring out the sunshine of summer. Purple and yellow wedding ideas are in abundance! Place a lush purple floral centerpiece surrounded by purple and yellow plastic gemstones and votive candles on each table.  Candles always bring that romantic feeling to your table.  To add a special touch to your tablescape, create table numbers with your monogram or some other detail printed on them.  To bring another pop of purple to your table and help create that wow factor, use round purple chargers. Everyone loves a little creativity when it comes to wedding details. Using a lemon as a place card holder is the perfect way to bring in the color yellow and that interesting flair that guests will remember.  Finish out your tablescape with a tasty mini wedding cake pop favor in yellow. Let your imagination flow when you plan your reception table details and you will not be disappointed!

2011′s Best Wedding Trends

After almost 2 decades serving brides and event planners, the Koyal Wholesale team has developed a great eye and ear for the best wedding trends of the coming year. It also helps that our customer base of nearly 25,000 brides and event planners worldwide help us forecast the trends via intense product and purchasing analyses and surveys. Simply put, we know what’ll be hot in 2011 by what our customers have bought so far in preparation for their 2011 events! For 2011, Koyal Wholesale (www.koyalwholesale.com) predicts the following:

2011 Wedding Trends will be driven by customization, personalization, highly affordable bling, bursts of color and as far as desserts go, cupcakes!

2011 Wedding Bridal Accessories will include a trend toward more bridal hair accessories, such as flowers, hair bands and feathers. Birdcage veils will continue to be popular. Corset dresses and dresses with drop-down waistlines will also continue their upward trend.

2011 Wedding Colors will of course be guided by Pantone’s Color of the Year, Honeysuckle pink. In addition, we believe that the warmer tones of coral and turquoise/aqua will continue to be strong. Navy blue will also be a strong contender for the most popular wedding color in 2011. Among Top 10 Wedding Color Themes for 2011 will be fuchsia and navy, honeysuckle and lime green and coral and navy.

2011 Wedding Themes will be guided by the trend toward personalization and customization. The Top 10 wedding themes for 2011 will include monograms, bling bling diamond wedding theme, and an eco-friendly, natural wedding theme. The damask wedding theme will also continue to be strong.

2011 Wedding Favors will be all about customization and personalization. The Top 10 Wedding Favors for 2011 will include customized eco-friendly favors such as seed packets and biodegradable favors. With the increased trend toward travel and destination weddings, custom luggage tags will be a popular 2011 wedding favor. The best 2011 wedding favors will also include monograms, personalized stickers and other accents to allow the favor to match the event’s color scheme. We predict that cupcakes will also be included as one of 2011′s hottest wedding favors. Brides will send their wedding cupcakes home with desserts in designer cupcake boxes, that can be customized with ribbon and personalized stickers.

2011 Wedding Supplies will be driven by color, bling and affordability. Paper lanterns will continue to be one of the most popular wedding supplies of 2011, as they provide a burst of color without bursting the wallet. Among Top 10 Wedding Supplies for 2011 will be diamond confetti, glitter diamond mesh ribbon at $3.33/foot, hanging crystals as low as $1.68 each, and crystal beaded curtains. Brides will be particularly enamored with affordable LED centerpiece lighting in 2011, and wireless floralytes will continue to be one of 2011 most popular wedding supplies. In addition, cupcake supplies will be among 2011′s hottest wedding supplies. Brides will continue to add dessert tables and candy buffets to their receptions, and cupcake cakes where cupcakes are dressed in designer cupcake wrappers, will be more popular than ever in 2011.

Shepherd’s Hooks and Pomanders

One of the most popular ceremony and reception decoration ideas of 2011 will be the use of pomanders on shepherd’s hooks. Pomanders, also known as flower balls, or kissing balls, provide instant, elegant bursts of color. Free-standing shepherd’s hooks can be used to line the ceremony aisle, or can even make for a beautiful centerpiece, when adorned in flowers and crystals. Pomanders can be made using real flowers and floral styrofoam balls. Ready-made silk flower pomanders are also available by Koyal Wholesale (www.koyalwholesale.com) in a variety of colors, including black, white, ivory, fuchsia, lime green, turquoise, brown and orange. Pomanders can be hung using simple organza or satin ribbon. Crystal picks, pearl accents or bouquet jewelry can be used to add “bling” to your pomander decorations.
