Vintage Coral & Yellow Wedding

Designer Looks By Koyal - Coral & Yellow

Designer Looks: Vintage Coral & Yellow Rustic Wedding

We are excited to present our latest Designer Looks Collection featuring Coral and Yellow wedding and event decor. This beautiful color combination was used by our guest stylist Amanda Auer of In The Now Weddings to create a stunning vintage inspired table setting. Amanda combined beautiful thrift store furniture finds with our vibrant decor. To add a pop of color to the table, Yellow Ripple Glass Charger Plates were used under simple white plates.

For a retro inspired look, Vintage Milk Bottles and Vintage Paper Straws were used instead of the traditional drinking glass. Amanda dressed up our 2 PC favor boxes by simply adding a belly band using our Pattern Crochet Roll. For a vintage inspired centerpiece fill our White Round birdcages with a fresh arrangement of flowers. Place the set of two birdcages side by side and leave one empty. The empty cage can be used for guests to place their gift cards and notes!

We hope you are inspired by this special Designer Looks Collection! Styling your own wedding or event using Koyal products? If you have any images you would like to share please email we would love to see them!

Every new year brings new and exciting trends and in the world of wedding & event planning, trends are essential to either embrace or shun. If you’re planning on throwing an event with a fresh theme, you should focus your color palette around Pantone’s “Color of the Year” for 2014, Radiant Orchid! (Pantone 18-3224, #B161A3)

Radiant Orchid (swatches)

Radiant Orchid (swatches)

This vibrant shade of violet is very versatile, it works well overpowering muted hues of green, or contrasting against rich shades of yellow/coral (see above swatch palette). For a more subtle approach to this years hottest color, lightly accent your event with various purple favors/gifts such as vintage paper straws, sheer organza favor bags & cupcake wrappers. Keep in mind, at least for the foreseeable future, Radiant Orchid is the new black.

Beach Wedding Ideas

Happy Friday everyone!  After a long week, we’re ready to hit the beach this weekend…which got us naturally thinking about all the beach weddings coming up this summer.  If sandy, sunny nuptials sound like a tropical dream, we’ve put together a few must-haves that let you celebrate in style!

Let’s tackle centerpieces first. Beach weddings can range from chic and casual to refined elegance.  Whatever your style, use your natural surroundings as your decor manual. Simple touches like natural sugar starfish (also work great for invitations and place card holders), tabletop tiki torches, or even natural driftwood branches used as table decorations play up on the beachy vibe.  Charger plates add a pop of color and texture to your table scape in pretty beach colors such as aqua blue charger plates, ocean blue charger plates. Or embrace beach chic style with rattan chargers in brick brown, honey brown, or sand brown.

With a carefree and relaxed vibe, beach weddings often leave guests with a feeling of not wanting to return home to the “real world” right away.  Therefore, give your guests mementos that will remind them of their seaside vacation.  Candies in starfish burlap favor bags or personalized favor bags, personalized tote bags, and key chain favors such as starfish chains, mini flip flops are always favorites.

Finally, event decorations can really tie your whole celebration together.  Play off the natural beauty of the sea and sand, and palm trees and tropical flowers.  You can choose big decor pieces for maximum impact such as seashell driftwood garlands,  driftwood garlands, tiered chandeliers in blue capiz shell, parasols, and personalized photo backdrops.

In end, a little creativity and inspiration will go a long way to creating the beach wedding of your dreams! Check out our Pinterest board for more ideas!

Top 10 Wedding Trends for 2013

Christmas is just around the corner, but we’re already excited for the 2013 wedding season!  If you’re planning a wedding for 2013, don’t miss out on these top trends that will tie your perfect day all together!

1.  Paper Lanterns

Paper lanterns are perfect for almost any type of wedding – from budget-friendly to extravagance, to indoor or outdoor – this key piece of decor makes creative lighting simple.  Part of the fun of paper lanterns is that the options are endless – you can stick to just one color, try different shades of the same color, or get colorful by color-blocking different hues.  An added bonus – paper lanterns can function as centerpieces as well!

2.  Colorful Charger Plates

Dressing the table is arguably one of the most important pieces of your wedding decor.  Solid color charger plates were all the rage in 2012 and the trend shows no signs of disappearing.  Because you can find charger plates in practically any color, it’s easy to find one that fits with your style.  Set against white linens, brightly colored charger plates immediately tell your guests it’s time to party.

3.  Tissue Paper Pom Poms

We’re starting to see a trend here: color.  Whether you use tissue paper pom poms as an alternative to paper lanterns, or in addition to, this decor trend adds casual elegance to any event.  You can even use them at your bridal shower and then again at the wedding – a budget friendly way to go big on decor.

4.  Kissing Balls

Here’s another trend we’re noticing: hanging decor.  We love kissing balls because they’re an easy yet decorative way to instantly dress up your outdoor event.  Hang these from trees, shepherd hooks, or the backs of chairs.  Extremely detailed, kissing balls create stunning decor for any event.

5.  Hanging Crystal Garlands

Looking to add some glam to your wedding without going overboard?  2013 is all about subtle touches of glamour. Hanging crystal garlands are perfect to use on centerpieces, especially on gorgeous manzanita trees.  Mix and match colors on the same centerpiece for an unexpected look.

6.  Paper Fans/Sandalwood Fans

Summer is still far off, but it’s not too early to start planning your summer wedding.  Many couples like to take advantage of the gorgeous weather and hold their wedding and/or reception outside.  However, whether your guests will be seated in a tent or not, make sure they’re prepared for the hot summer sun.  Paper and sandalwood fans are perfect because they’re both functional and decorative!

7.  Raffia Fans

If you’re looking for more texture in your fans, then look no further than raffia fans.  These days you can find raffia everywhere – furniture, party ware, and rugs!

8.  Rhinestone Ribbon Rolls

Here’s another trend that’s here to stay for a while – rhinestone ribbon rolls.  If you’re a DIY kind of bride, then this is a 2013 must-have.  These rhinestone rolls are easy to cut and to add adhesive to on the back.  Let your imagination run wild with this glam decor.  Some of our favorite ideas: wrap around candle centerpieces, use them on place cards, decorate your gift box, and more!

9.  Custom Cupcake Toppers

Custom cupcake wrappers were everywhere in 2012 and don’t expect them to go anywhere in 2013!  Customized cupcake toppers are a fun way to add personalization to your special day.  Use these toppers to create messages for your save-the-date cards, engagement photos, and reception dessert table!

10.  Burlap

One of our favorites – burlap is a must for any vintage, shabby chic event.  Perfect for both indoor and outdoor events, burlap adds and instant touch of rusticity.

2012 Wedding Trends: Peacock Themed Wedding Ideas

Being in the wedding industry gives us insight to trends and popular wedding inspiration. We are lucky enough to see trends in all different aspects because we attend a wide variety of items. It is fun for us to see weddings that feature our wedding supplies and centerpiece ideas. Recently, we had the opportunity to attend a family member’s wedding. They chose the popular peacock theme for their wedding theme. We were blown away by the number of creative ideas they had for decorating with peacock feathers and colors!

{Peacock Wedding Supplies: Diamond Décor, Peacock Wedding Accessories, PeacockWedding Set, Peacock Blue Tissue Paper Pom Poms, Peacock Masterpiece, Blue Charger Plates, Peacock Labels, Table Linens}

The key to decorating a peacock theme wedding is to use purple, teal and blue accents to compliment your peacock feathers. A bold peacock theme is perfect for an outdoor wedding. Ideally, the bold colors would be great for a fall wedding but you can decorate with purples and blues for a summer wedding as well. Here are a few great ideas for how to decorate with peacock feathers.

Peacock Theme Stationery

From your wedding invitations to your table placecards, incorporate a colorful peacock theme. Ask your wedding invitation designer to use purple, teal and blue to create a color theme that can be combined with a peacock feather. If you’re creating DIY wedding invitations, attach a peacock feather to each invitation and tie with a blue or green ribbon. Your three dimensional invitations will memorable and set the tone for a peacock theme event. Incorporate a bold outdoor theme with your peacock theme by hosting your wedding at a winery. Instead of using a peacock placecard, decorate your table numbers with a wine bottle lable. A few wine bottles, one with a peacock label and one with a table number can create a tall centerpiece display when you light them up with votives or tapered candles.

Peacock Centerpieces

For a creative twist on traditional centerpiece displays use tall glass pillars filled with peacock feathers. Instead of filling the vases with water and flowers, place the flowers or arrangements on top of the vases. Incorporate a few peacock feathers into your purple and green floral arrangements. You can put rocks or water pearls at the bottom of each vase to stabilize the cylinder. The tall glass centerpieces are easily see through so they don’t block conversation between guests. Once you’ve created these gorgeous centerpieces, finish the look with a matching tablecloth. The beauty of having a peacock theme is you can accent with blue, green or purple to match your favorite colors. If you choose purple, you can use purple tablecloths with teal or blue charger plates. Instead of using water pearls, you can fill glass vases with diamond décor to create a glamorous centerpiece. A table set with diamond table décor and peacock feathers is a fun way to incorporate bling and feathers together.

When it comes to choosing wedding themes, it is important to choose a style and theme that matches your distinct personalities. A peacock themed wedding is the perfect way to stand out and create a one-of-a-kind wedding. Don’t forget to surprise your groom with a peacock garter and fun peacock wedding accessories. For other accessories and bridesmaid dresses, use purple and blues for fun accent colors. We loved seeing all the fun ways to put together a bright peacock theme wedding. DIY Wedding: How To Create An Affordable Outdoor Wedding in 2012

Did you know that more brides are choosing to have their wedding ceremony and reception in the same location? In addition to cutting wedding costs and combining locations, couples are also choosing to lower their costs by reducing the number of guests. Transportation has definitely been taken into consideration in the recent years, with gas prices being so outrageous in parts of the country. The fact that brides want their wedding to be closer to home and eliminate the need for transportation in between shows the budget conscious decisions brides are making. Fortunately, creating an intimate wedding with fewer guests in a comfortable setting is completely doable with DIY wedding tips and ideas from bloggers.

Using coordinating table linens and tableware is a great way to create a uniform look that dresses up your backyard area. Adding special charger plates will make your tables look special without having to purchase dinnerware sets for each table. Your every day plates will look classic and dressy when you place them on coordinating charger plates. This is a great way to prepare a backyard area for a special DIY wedding.
