For most in the industry, they’ve spent years learning the ropes. While others were working their way through event planning 101 and wedding style guides, Amy Atlas was working her way up the legal chain. Her background in law didn’t stop her from becoming a baking queen. As she was taking a break from her law career to have children, her passion for baking took center stage to practicing law. She claims the more parties and events she planned the more her business “organically grew by itself”. Not a surprise to us, Amy!

Wedding Desserts: Your Guide to Candy Buffet Jars & Vases

Finding the perfect vase can be a challenge when you’re not sure what to look for. Weddings can feature all sorts of vases: tower vases, apothecary jars, wood vases, vintage vases. The list goes on and on! The wedding theme and style will determine what type of glass vase you’re looking for. When it comes to the candy buffet and dessert table, one style of vase definitely seems to take the cake: apothecary jars.  These beautiful jars are the easiest way to showcase your favorite candy treats without having to worry about bugs or messes.

Here are the top five ways to create a stunning candy buffet:

  1. Apothecary Jars: These elegant jars transform any table into a beautiful dessert buffet. You can wrap each jar with ribbon to match your wedding colors. Mix and match different apothecary jars for different heights and widths. You can incorporate jars into your centerpiece display as well!
  2. Bulk Candy: When creating a dessert table or candy buffet, always estimate more candy than you need. Jars filled half way don’t create the desired look you’re going for. Factor in more candy than necessary if you plan to send guests home with edible favors. Don’t forget, buying bulk candy can help you save money with wholesale candy prices!
  3. Glass Vases: Some sweet treats might be better served in an open vase. For instance, individually wrapped chocolates or rock candy can be served in a square glass vase instead of a tall apothecary jar.
  4. Metal Scoops: Be sure to include plenty of scoops and tongs. If anyone has a peanut allergy, mixing scoops could be an accident waiting to happen. Label each container and stock up on tongs for truffles, macaroons and bon bons.
  5. Favor Bags: Edible favors make great wedding favors. You can save money on wedding favors by combining them with your dessert. Use cupcake domes for cupcakes and chocolates, favor boxes for trail mix and nuts, and favor bags for macaroons. Personalized favor bags are a great way to add a special thank you for coming.

If you’re looking for a great centerpiece idea, why not combine your desserts and centerpieces together? Some brides are decorating with cake stands and apothecary jars to serve desserts at each table. Cupcakes and truffles can be displayed on cake stands and bulk candy and rock candy can be displayed in apothecary jars. What a cute way to serve dessert all night long!

The holidays certainly do bring out a fun festive side in all of us. The new explosion of glitter in décor and wedding decorations is proof of that. We’re chalking it up to Christmastime and New Year’s Eve festivities. Nothing is more fun that sparkly glitter cupcakes and gleaming glitter heels. Snowflakes even seem to have a bit of sparkle in them, don’t you think? Decorating with glitter seems to be destined to happen.

Or peel off a strip of glitter adhesive sheets and ho hum place setting table numbers just became a little more sparkly. You can wrap your glass vases with these adhesive sheets to match the rest of your décor. We have glitter manzanita trees in both silver and gold that make stunning centerpieces for a reception table. You can light them up with hanging crystal candle holders to make them reflect the light. If wedding blogs and Pinterest boards have are any sign of 2012 wedding trends, next year weddings are certainly going to have a lot of glamour and glitter to them! Thanks to our glitter adhesive sheets you can have affordable DIY wedding décor a la glitter in no time!

DIY Ideas: How To Decorate For The Holidays

Picture the smell of the holidays filling up the room:  on your front coffee table is a glass vase wrapped in cinnamon sticks, candles are burning bright in the window and the smell of hot cocoa is filling up the kitchen. Decorating the table for a holiday dinner can be an artistic way to express your creativity and style. Festive centerpieces are great for conversation starters. A creative way to set the table or decorate your mantle is to fill tall glass vases with red and green glitter ornaments. For decorations that will last through the holidays to New Year’s Eve, decorate ornaments and pine cones with silver and gold spray paint like this décor featured in Good Housekeeping.

Christmas Ornaments

These tall glass vases can be decorated with candles for extra light or fill them with nuts or fruit for a centerpiece that doubles as a serving dish. There are many ways to create a stunning holiday display for any size party. For small shorter vases decorate the outside with candy canes and tie with a green ribbon like these from Better Homes & Garden holiday ideas. Pillar candles can be wrapped in colorful holiday ribbon and candy canes for a red and white festive look. Apothecary jars are good for Christmas cookies as serving bowls for desserts. Glass vases and jars are perfect for adapting for DIY holiday décor because they are affordable and can be used afterwards. We’re not sure about you but nothing brings family and friends together better than fresh baked goods from the oven.

A Special Vintage Modern Stylized Photo Shoot: Part 2

We were fortunate enough to be part of a lovely stylized photo shoot with our friends at Veils & Fairytales Event Planning and Mariela Campbell Photography. We were incredibly impressed with the photos that we saw afterwards. These wedding photographs are stunning and unique. The decor was shabby but chic and perfect for an outdoor rustic wedding. Planning a country wedding requires blending rustic themes and shabby vintage themes. Unique barn weddings are great for any season because they can be decorated with different colors. Our favorite color combination is rose pink and white. White and pink colors are perfect for vintage weddings because they’re romantic and classic.

Candy Buffet Supplies Perfect For A Winter Wedding!

Candy buffets are no longer just for summer and spring weddings. They can be incorporated into a winter wedding with just the slight variation in color and decor! White weddings are the perfect way to showcase mint chocolate treats and peppermint bark for a stunning candy buffet display. The best part about a DIY candy bar is you can dress it up with baked goods and other favorite desserts that may be meaningful to the bride and groom. If you’ve shared a sweet ice cream date for your most memorable night out then decorate a retro candy buffet with ice cream sandwiches and hot cocoa to warm up after! One of my personal favorite is cake pops and cupcake displays that have stunning pops of color. Nothing complements white desserts better than sparkly toppings! Try adding a glitter cupcake wrapper to your cupcakes for a special bit of fancy.

Winter Wonderland Wedding Candy Buffet

I came across this inspiration board from on our Pinterest page. I love the way they incorporated the snowflakes as an integral part of the decor. Snowflakes represent winter and snowy weather so what better way is there to show off white cupcakes? Create a subtle mix of cupcakes, cookies and candies to give your guests a better selection to choose from. If a white on white color theme is not your style, try a silver and white wedding motif.

To create a stunning wedding candy buffet you need a mixture of candy bowls, candy buffet jars and cake stands. Adding different heights will mix up the table and look better aesthetically. Decorate with silver bowls and clear glass apothecary jars for a silver and white theme. Peppermint bark and s’mores theme treats are great for a winter themed party. Another crowd pleaser? Gold coins are perfect for a wedding near Christmas because they’re classic and a subtle reminder of the holidays. Plus, gold candy is a great way to accent white in a modern way. Once you’ve decided on your stands and your types of candy, then you can move on to accent decor. Decorate your cupcakes in any of our festive Christmas cupcake wrappers for a holiday wedding or our gold mini cupcake liners for a white and gold motif. Mini cupcake liners or baking cups are also perfect for putting cake pops and small Jordan almonds in to avoid guests having to dig into dishes of treats. Which reminds me, don’t forget the rest of your candy buffet supplies such as tongs, scoops and to go favor bags for guests to take their treats home!

A popular trend among DIY brides and wedding bloggers is the use of mason jars and paper decor. White Tissue Paper Pom Poms hung above your candy buffet is a great backdrop and photo opportunity. Mason jars are cute with a few colorful paper drinking straws. Or chocolate chip cookies balanced on top of a pretty glass of milk make for a sweet chocolate touch without interrupting the sweet tooth theme. If all of this seems a little too daunting or cavity inducing, try decorating a simple cupcake buffet display with cupcake wrappers for color and then giving guests personalized baking mix party favors instead. Whether you’re creating a stunning cupcake buffet or going all out with a candy and dessert display table, you’ll find all the candy buffet supplies for a white winterland wedding at Koyal Wholesale!

Unique Wedding Cake Stands Perfect for Cakes & Cupcakes

Decorating a dessert table has definitely become an art form. There are many different ways to style and decorate a cake that truly make it personalized to each couple. My favorite part about decorating desserts is the presentation. The flavor and icing is only good if someone actually wants to eat the cake. Recently I went to a wedding where there was a dessert table with different types of cakes and treats. Cookies and pies were all placed on different colored cake stands. It created a funky looking cake display that was really unique. Luckily for you dear friend, I have tons of ideas for how to create a fabulous dessert table!

Chic Wedding Decorations: Reception Trail Mix Bar

Photo Courtesy of by Studio EMP

I’m in love. I’m absolutely hundred and twenty percent in love with this idea. I’ve already gotten approval from my man to go ahead and add it to our decorations. It wasn’t very hard to get his vote as he loves dried fruit trail mix. I’ll admit, I wandered onto the Found Vintage Rentals website because I love antique reclaimed furniture but I quickly tripped, stumbled and fell in love. I want to pack up my things, run to the store and start picking out trail mix items now!

Okay, anyways, here’s what I’m thinking… This idea works great with the right kind of atmosphere. Outdoors, garden wedding but not too hot (M&M’s melt!). Using mixed selection of jars and vases you can create your own clustered look. I am toying with the idea of using apothecary jars simply for the fact sweets can attract ants and flies. Centerpiece vases with stands attached to them work great for achieving the vintage look. Or try going with small metal silver favor buckets to make it more rustic and unique.

Complete the look with aluminum candy buffet scoops for your guests to pick out which items they like best. This trail mix buffet is very much reminiscent of a frozen yogurt bar only without the cold melting mess to clean up. But hey, you could throw in some tubs of vanilla fro-yo and you’d have a the perfect outdoor dessert bar.

All you need to complete your trail mix bags are cute sweet candy paper bags. If you’re planning on offering your guests larger pieces then give them bigger cartons to put their goodies in. These novelty popcorn cartons do the trick and add to the chic-reclaimed vibe. Lastly, plop some buffet signs so your guests know which type of chocolate, nuts and fruit are which.

All of this is just absolutely amazing put together on reclaimed furniture. A few of my favorite selections are the Eastlake Blue Dressor and Justice Teal Metal Shelves. Both of these options would be awesome combined with jars and vases to create a candy, cupcake or dessert buffet of any kind. If you have any questions, I’m sure you could just ask  Jeni at Found as she is a sweetheart!
