Top 10 Wedding Trends for 2013

Christmas is just around the corner, but we’re already excited for the 2013 wedding season!  If you’re planning a wedding for 2013, don’t miss out on these top trends that will tie your perfect day all together!

1.  Paper Lanterns

Paper lanterns are perfect for almost any type of wedding – from budget-friendly to extravagance, to indoor or outdoor – this key piece of decor makes creative lighting simple.  Part of the fun of paper lanterns is that the options are endless – you can stick to just one color, try different shades of the same color, or get colorful by color-blocking different hues.  An added bonus – paper lanterns can function as centerpieces as well!

2.  Colorful Charger Plates

Dressing the table is arguably one of the most important pieces of your wedding decor.  Solid color charger plates were all the rage in 2012 and the trend shows no signs of disappearing.  Because you can find charger plates in practically any color, it’s easy to find one that fits with your style.  Set against white linens, brightly colored charger plates immediately tell your guests it’s time to party.

3.  Tissue Paper Pom Poms

We’re starting to see a trend here: color.  Whether you use tissue paper pom poms as an alternative to paper lanterns, or in addition to, this decor trend adds casual elegance to any event.  You can even use them at your bridal shower and then again at the wedding – a budget friendly way to go big on decor.

4.  Kissing Balls

Here’s another trend we’re noticing: hanging decor.  We love kissing balls because they’re an easy yet decorative way to instantly dress up your outdoor event.  Hang these from trees, shepherd hooks, or the backs of chairs.  Extremely detailed, kissing balls create stunning decor for any event.

5.  Hanging Crystal Garlands

Looking to add some glam to your wedding without going overboard?  2013 is all about subtle touches of glamour. Hanging crystal garlands are perfect to use on centerpieces, especially on gorgeous manzanita trees.  Mix and match colors on the same centerpiece for an unexpected look.

6.  Paper Fans/Sandalwood Fans

Summer is still far off, but it’s not too early to start planning your summer wedding.  Many couples like to take advantage of the gorgeous weather and hold their wedding and/or reception outside.  However, whether your guests will be seated in a tent or not, make sure they’re prepared for the hot summer sun.  Paper and sandalwood fans are perfect because they’re both functional and decorative!

7.  Raffia Fans

If you’re looking for more texture in your fans, then look no further than raffia fans.  These days you can find raffia everywhere – furniture, party ware, and rugs!

8.  Rhinestone Ribbon Rolls

Here’s another trend that’s here to stay for a while – rhinestone ribbon rolls.  If you’re a DIY kind of bride, then this is a 2013 must-have.  These rhinestone rolls are easy to cut and to add adhesive to on the back.  Let your imagination run wild with this glam decor.  Some of our favorite ideas: wrap around candle centerpieces, use them on place cards, decorate your gift box, and more!

9.  Custom Cupcake Toppers

Custom cupcake wrappers were everywhere in 2012 and don’t expect them to go anywhere in 2013!  Customized cupcake toppers are a fun way to add personalization to your special day.  Use these toppers to create messages for your save-the-date cards, engagement photos, and reception dessert table!

10.  Burlap

One of our favorites – burlap is a must for any vintage, shabby chic event.  Perfect for both indoor and outdoor events, burlap adds and instant touch of rusticity.

Safari Themed Wedding Ideas: Leopard Print

It’s time to talk about animal print wedding themes. For those of you that follow us regularly, you know we love unique personalized wedding details. Safari themed weddings are definitely full of personalized wedding style and unique details. A couple weeks ago we discussed the beauty that is zebra print, now let’s discuss leopard print. Leopard print comes in a variety of colors but most weddings feature the standard black and white leopard print. From the wedding invitations to the animal print decorations, you can incorporate leopard bring into any part of your wedding.

Leopard Print Accessories

If you want to incorporate leopard print into your wedding, first decide how much is “too much”. A bold look would be to ask your bridesmaids to wear leopard print bridesmaid dresses with hot pink detail. While this sounds fun and exciting, it might be more appropriate for the bachelorette party instead. Leopard print is very cute for wedding accessories such as your wedding garter or heels. Let your bridesmaids pick pink or green wedding dresses and surprise them with simply leopard print earrings or shoes. This is a subtle way to incorporate leopard print into your wedding attire.

Outdoor Leopard Décor

When it comes to decorating your outdoor wedding venue with leopard print, you can use tissue paper pom poms and strings of mini lights to create a fun playful backyard theme. Combine your leopard print with white lace details for a cute vintage feel. Lace is feminine while leopard print is exotic and intriguing. Decorate your table with a lace tablecloth and leopard print table runner. If you’re really into the vintage look, use lace table cloths with burlap chair sashes. Then your leopard print décor can be the accent to spice up the theme. Leopard and lace is a great combination for a romantic outdoor venue. With a little lace, you can turn your leopard theme into a romantic 1920’s theme wedding!

Don’t Forget Desserts

If you read our zebra print blog you’ll know that animal print cupcake wrappers are a must have item! Decorate a yummy dessert table with your lace tablecloths and white cupcake stands. With lace coasters you can dish out delicious cupcakes with leopard print cupcake wrappers. They double as beautiful edible party favors if you give guests cupcake boxes to take them home in! Who doesn’t love a deliciously cute cupcake as an edible wedding favor?

When you create a leopard print wedding theme you’re destined to have a memorable wedding. The bold accessories and vintage décor will create a one-of-a-kind event. Lace and leopard is a feminine and romantic combination that can be incorporated into your bridal shower, wedding ceremony and reception. You can even give your bridesmaids cute leopard print phone cases to get them in the mood for your exotic party theme.

What do you think about this fun playful wedding theme? Not everyone could pull this style off.  If you had the opportunity to incorporate a leopard print into your wedding style, what leopard print accessory would YOU wear?

2012 Wedding Trends: Peacock Themed Wedding Ideas

Being in the wedding industry gives us insight to trends and popular wedding inspiration. We are lucky enough to see trends in all different aspects because we attend a wide variety of items. It is fun for us to see weddings that feature our wedding supplies and centerpiece ideas. Recently, we had the opportunity to attend a family member’s wedding. They chose the popular peacock theme for their wedding theme. We were blown away by the number of creative ideas they had for decorating with peacock feathers and colors!

{Peacock Wedding Supplies: Diamond Décor, Peacock Wedding Accessories, PeacockWedding Set, Peacock Blue Tissue Paper Pom Poms, Peacock Masterpiece, Blue Charger Plates, Peacock Labels, Table Linens}

The key to decorating a peacock theme wedding is to use purple, teal and blue accents to compliment your peacock feathers. A bold peacock theme is perfect for an outdoor wedding. Ideally, the bold colors would be great for a fall wedding but you can decorate with purples and blues for a summer wedding as well. Here are a few great ideas for how to decorate with peacock feathers.

Peacock Theme Stationery

From your wedding invitations to your table placecards, incorporate a colorful peacock theme. Ask your wedding invitation designer to use purple, teal and blue to create a color theme that can be combined with a peacock feather. If you’re creating DIY wedding invitations, attach a peacock feather to each invitation and tie with a blue or green ribbon. Your three dimensional invitations will memorable and set the tone for a peacock theme event. Incorporate a bold outdoor theme with your peacock theme by hosting your wedding at a winery. Instead of using a peacock placecard, decorate your table numbers with a wine bottle lable. A few wine bottles, one with a peacock label and one with a table number can create a tall centerpiece display when you light them up with votives or tapered candles.

Peacock Centerpieces

For a creative twist on traditional centerpiece displays use tall glass pillars filled with peacock feathers. Instead of filling the vases with water and flowers, place the flowers or arrangements on top of the vases. Incorporate a few peacock feathers into your purple and green floral arrangements. You can put rocks or water pearls at the bottom of each vase to stabilize the cylinder. The tall glass centerpieces are easily see through so they don’t block conversation between guests. Once you’ve created these gorgeous centerpieces, finish the look with a matching tablecloth. The beauty of having a peacock theme is you can accent with blue, green or purple to match your favorite colors. If you choose purple, you can use purple tablecloths with teal or blue charger plates. Instead of using water pearls, you can fill glass vases with diamond décor to create a glamorous centerpiece. A table set with diamond table décor and peacock feathers is a fun way to incorporate bling and feathers together.

When it comes to choosing wedding themes, it is important to choose a style and theme that matches your distinct personalities. A peacock themed wedding is the perfect way to stand out and create a one-of-a-kind wedding. Don’t forget to surprise your groom with a peacock garter and fun peacock wedding accessories. For other accessories and bridesmaid dresses, use purple and blues for fun accent colors. We loved seeing all the fun ways to put together a bright peacock theme wedding. Beautiful Spring Time Trend: Pink Wedding Themes

Each wedding season features its own popular wedding colors. Spring weddings are famous for pastels, lace and other vintage wedding details. One of the most popular wedding colors for a spring event is pink. The delicate coloring can be paired with purple and blue for a unique wedding color theme. Pink weddings don’t have to be overly feminine by using contrasting bright color combinations such as pink and green, pink and brown or pink and black. There are plenty of fun and unique ways to decorate a wedding with bright pink or pastel pink wedding colors.

When pairing with paper lanterns use string lights and alternate between lanterns and tissue paper pom poms for an eclectic wedding style. This look can be adapted for any fun colorful spring wedding or holiday party.

April Showers, Bring May Flowers: Spring 2012 Weddings!

Spring is a special time to celebrate renewal and new life. The fresh green grass and beautiful peonies can make a great backdrop for a beautiful spring wedding. Soft pastels, such as purple and pink, make beautiful wedding colors for any bridal party. You can coordinate pinks with vintage lace and diamond rhinestone for a sweet romantic color palette. We know it’s only winter, but spring weddings will be here before you know it. There are plenty of ways to celebrate with pink decorations and pastel accents.

These pink tissue paper pom poms combined with paper lanterns, lace tablecloths or outdoor lights would be the perfect way to create a spring garden wedding. Butterfly accents with fresh flowers would be lovely. Fresh flowers really are the best part of spring. Garden tulips and pink peonies are great flowers for a spring wedding and they come in pink and white colors. Celebrating a spring wedding is a beautiful way to use pinks and purples as your wedding colors with white, blue or green accents.

2012 Wedding Trends: Rose Gold Color Combinations

For a winter wedding, instead of decorating with all white, we’re noticing a trend in pink and gold weddings. These rose gold color combinations are perfect for an elegant romantic New Year’s Eve wedding. And don’t worry; there are plenty of ways to decorate with pink without being too feminine. Choose a light pink that goes with gold and white. You can decorate with white and pink using gold as an accent color. Pink and gold wedding cakes are really in style right now for a dramatic alternative to a traditional white wedding cake.

There are plenty of DIY wedding ideas that you can incorporate into a pink and gold wedding palette without breaking the bank. Gold charger plates are a great option if you already have white dining plates. They will help to add a touch of color to your table settings. Then use white table linens with pink accents for a simple subtle décor. If you’re using china, stick with gold rim plates without any large prints. This will leave an understated place setting so that you can create a stunning centerpiece without a cluttered looking table. Blush peonies are a subtle light pink flower that compliments gold very nicely. Unfortunately they are a late spring flower but some florists can get them year round. They are a round flower and can be combined with other filler flowers. Use these gold vases to create a full floral arrangement.

Decorate a pink dessert table with macaroons and cupcakes. Gold glitter cupcake wrappers are perfect for adding a touch of glitter to the display. Use gold ribbon to hang pink and white tissue paper pom poms over your tables for romantic décor. Using striped décor and gold accents is a great way to create a romantic feel. This wedding trend is really popular for a mid-winter wedding because it works with snowy backgrounds. Log cabins and deep wood accents are a great complement for light pink and white color combinations. What do you think of this wedding color trend? For a fun gold accent try ending the night with gold sparklers for a romantic grand exit!

A Special Vintage Modern Stylized Photo Shoot: Part 2

We were fortunate enough to be part of a lovely stylized photo shoot with our friends at Veils & Fairytales Event Planning and Mariela Campbell Photography. We were incredibly impressed with the photos that we saw afterwards. These wedding photographs are stunning and unique. The decor was shabby but chic and perfect for an outdoor rustic wedding. Planning a country wedding requires blending rustic themes and shabby vintage themes. Unique barn weddings are great for any season because they can be decorated with different colors. Our favorite color combination is rose pink and white. White and pink colors are perfect for vintage weddings because they’re romantic and classic.

Candy Buffet Supplies Perfect For A Winter Wedding!

Candy buffets are no longer just for summer and spring weddings. They can be incorporated into a winter wedding with just the slight variation in color and decor! White weddings are the perfect way to showcase mint chocolate treats and peppermint bark for a stunning candy buffet display. The best part about a DIY candy bar is you can dress it up with baked goods and other favorite desserts that may be meaningful to the bride and groom. If you’ve shared a sweet ice cream date for your most memorable night out then decorate a retro candy buffet with ice cream sandwiches and hot cocoa to warm up after! One of my personal favorite is cake pops and cupcake displays that have stunning pops of color. Nothing complements white desserts better than sparkly toppings! Try adding a glitter cupcake wrapper to your cupcakes for a special bit of fancy.

Winter Wonderland Wedding Candy Buffet

I came across this inspiration board from thecakeblog.com on our Pinterest page. I love the way they incorporated the snowflakes as an integral part of the decor. Snowflakes represent winter and snowy weather so what better way is there to show off white cupcakes? Create a subtle mix of cupcakes, cookies and candies to give your guests a better selection to choose from. If a white on white color theme is not your style, try a silver and white wedding motif.

To create a stunning wedding candy buffet you need a mixture of candy bowls, candy buffet jars and cake stands. Adding different heights will mix up the table and look better aesthetically. Decorate with silver bowls and clear glass apothecary jars for a silver and white theme. Peppermint bark and s’mores theme treats are great for a winter themed party. Another crowd pleaser? Gold coins are perfect for a wedding near Christmas because they’re classic and a subtle reminder of the holidays. Plus, gold candy is a great way to accent white in a modern way. Once you’ve decided on your stands and your types of candy, then you can move on to accent decor. Decorate your cupcakes in any of our festive Christmas cupcake wrappers for a holiday wedding or our gold mini cupcake liners for a white and gold motif. Mini cupcake liners or baking cups are also perfect for putting cake pops and small Jordan almonds in to avoid guests having to dig into dishes of treats. Which reminds me, don’t forget the rest of your candy buffet supplies such as tongs, scoops and to go favor bags for guests to take their treats home!

A popular trend among DIY brides and wedding bloggers is the use of mason jars and paper decor. White Tissue Paper Pom Poms hung above your candy buffet is a great backdrop and photo opportunity. Mason jars are cute with a few colorful paper drinking straws. Or chocolate chip cookies balanced on top of a pretty glass of milk make for a sweet chocolate touch without interrupting the sweet tooth theme. If all of this seems a little too daunting or cavity inducing, try decorating a simple cupcake buffet display with cupcake wrappers for color and then giving guests personalized baking mix party favors instead. Whether you’re creating a stunning cupcake buffet or going all out with a candy and dessert display table, you’ll find all the candy buffet supplies for a white winterland wedding at Koyal Wholesale!
